Amy Lou Adams, full name Amy Lou Adams (born 20 August 1974 Aviano Italy), American actress. She is known for playing naive characters who delight and are adored by critics. Adams was one of seven siblings who grew up as a young child in Colorado's Castle Rock. Adams was born when her father worked for the U.S. Military in Italy. She began dancing and acting professionally in the mid-1990s with Boulder Dinner Theatre, and following that The Country Dinner Playhouse. After moving to Minnesota in the mid-1990s, she participated in a film mock-documentary about beauty contests called Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998). The film was a success and she became a screen star as a ditzy but good-natured contestant, she relocated towards Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. The couple also had children Kelly Curtis, Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was spotted via actress Norma Shearer Leigh signed a contract with MGM to begin her career as a film star at the end of her 40s. Her appearances in popular movies in the subsequent decade including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) and Living It Up (a Martin and Lewis-film that was released in 1954).
