Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting by working as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a the morning news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD-TV. O'Dell's stories in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police regarding DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. It led to the state government imposing more stringent rules in these instances. Ms. O'Dell was recognized by the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. O'Dell was then employed by NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist, before she joined Access Hollywood in the role of weekend co-anchor. She also works as an anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She's reported on events such including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as and co-hosted a variety of shows that were pre-showarrivals to The Emmys and the Golden Globes. She hosted both The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
