Julie Chen Moonves is the host of Big Brother's 22nd season, premiering on CBS on August 5, 2018. Chen Moonves served as the moderator and one of the first hosts on The Talk. She won a Daytime Emmy Award for her work. Her writing background was evident prior to becoming a host. Her desire was to write. In fact, it won her an Emmy. Her excellent talk show won the host an Emmy. The Talk is a show that examines current events with five female hosts. Chen Moonves co-hosted CBS Newsthe weekday morning show The Early Show in 2002 in 2010 and then became host of the talk show. She was the anchor for The Early Show as well as CBS Morning News. The CBS Television Network broadcasted a half-hour morning news program during the early hours of the day. Chen Moonves also covered the war in Iraq, among other major stories, on The Early Show. She was sent to Cairo in the aftermath of 9/11, and she conducted an exclusive and riveting discussion with the father who was the principal hijacker. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers like the former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and the Queen Rania of Jordan, former Defense Secretary William Cohen, and celebrities including Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, and Jennifer Lopez. Chen Moonves is also a CBS Sunday Morning reporter who has featured stars such as Jamie Lee Curtis. Before The Early Show she was a reporter with WDTN TV Dayton which was based in Dayton, Ohio (1995-1997). While completing her last semester at university, she worked as an assistant for ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) and served as the producer of ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news channel). As a desk assistant to ABC News late night broadcast Nightline she was a part of the team that worked with Ted Koppel. He remains an inspiration to her in the field of journalism. Chen Moonves was Koppel's co-worker for Anatomy of a Riot (the Premiertime Special of Columbia du-Pont that focused on how the Los Angeles riots of 1992).
